1875 (February 25) Registered cover to Ireland bearing Six cent yellow brown strip of three, left stamp showing the very elusive “NECK FLAW” plate variety (Plate A; Position 41) in sound condition, along with two One cent deep orange yellow, all Montreal printings perf 11½x12, tied by concentric rings, Woodbridge, U.C. double arc dispatch at left and receiver backstamps. Overall soiling, ageing and edge flaws to cover, right 6c and left 1c faulty. A very scarce double Allan Line rate (12 cent) plus the elusive 8 cent registration fee to the United Kingdom; and also a very rare usage of this plate variety on cover, Fine (Unitrade 35d, 39b, 39iv) Provenance: “Jura” (June 2007; Lot 2334)
